Help with the out of date "C for Dummies" book

      Hey, guys!

So I'm having a bit of trouble following the guidelines of this book since its obvious to me now that it's quite out of date in regards to computer software.

I have Windows 10 and I'm trying to follow the instructions on the Appendix on MAKING GCC WORK IN WINDOWS. Now, I have CodeBlocks and VIM but when I search on my PC for anything with gcc in it, it comes up empty. And when I try to follow the instructions in placing this follwoing code in, it doesn't work telling me it's been denied: @c: \Dev-C++\bin\gcc %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6

I know for various reasons it's because I don't have DEV-C++ and the gcc. I really am a beginner at this and it's frustrating to say the least when you can't find any information regarding this.

If anyone understands what I'm on about here I would appreciate a helping hand!!

      Thank you.
